Hernando BOCC Approves Permitting Exemptions for Several Home Improvement Projects

Spring Hill homeowners, good news just dropped! On July 14, your Hernando BOCC voted 4-0 to slash red tape on dozens of home improvement projects. That water heater installation you've been putting off? Commissioner Steve Champion noted "no one's pulling a permit for a water heater," and now you might not have to.
This means minor roof repairs under 200 sq ft, sheds up to 288 sq ft, and even some kitchen remodels are now permit-free. Development Services Planning Director Omar DePablo pushed for these changes to simplify life for residents.
