News & Information

Hernando County Government (FB Page)

Get ready, Spring Hill. A key Hernando County Board of County Commissioners Land Use Meeting is on the calendar. Today, at 9:00 a.m. It's all happening right here in Brooksville, at the Hernando County Courthouse.

The John Law Ayers County Commission Chambers, Room 160, at 20 North Main St., will be buzzing. What local developments might be decided? What changes could affect your neighborhood? Don't miss out on understanding the future of our land use. Find the full agenda and watch live at hernandocountyfl.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.

Hernando County Sheriff (FB Page)

State Representative Jeff Holcomb just made a huge impact on local students. His $2,000 donation directly supports the 10th Annual Back-to-School Bash. That money means more FREE backpacks, school supplies, lunch boxes, and even physicals for kids gearing up for the new school year.

This critical event happens July 18, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, at Great Life Church, 14494 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville. Holcomb's generosity helps ensure every child starts school ready to succeed. How can our community rally to support even more Spring Hill families?

Hernando County Sheriff (FB Page)

Get ready for "Burgers & Badges" happening Tonight! Your local Hernando County Sheriff's Office deputies will be at Culver's, 1065 S Broad St in Brooksville, from 5 to 8 p.m. Imagine grabbing a delicious meal and chatting face-to-face with the people dedicated to keeping our streets safe.

This isn't just dinner out. 10% of all proceeds directly benefit Hernando County Sheriff's Office Charities. You can support a vital community cause just by showing up. Ready to connect with law enforcement and make a real difference in Brooksville?

The iconic Ridge Manor clubhouse, a 7665-sq. ft. landmark since 1959, is now just rubble. Remember the vibrant Whispering Oaks Country Club or Ridge Manor Golf and Country Club? For decades, it was the social hub, hosting everything from $1 dance nights with Roddy Woodcock to Halloween Extravaganzas for over 200 people.

J. Earl Miller, who started Ridge Manor in the 1950s near US 301 and Hwy 50, envisioned a dream community. After his death in 1960, the Beasley family took over in 1962, even adding an Olympic-size pool by 1964. What happened to this bustling center that made it fall into such disrepair by 1979?

Weeki Wachee Springs (FB Page)

Gabby the mermaid wants to make sure you're always in the know at Weeki Wachee! The iconic mermaids perform daily, 365 days a year, weather permitting, offering magic even on holidays. You might think you have your Weeki Wachee Springs State Park visits planned perfectly.

But what about those unexpected changes? A brand new, FREE "Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park" app just launched. It delivers instant, real-time notifications on everything from weather closures to Buccaneer Bay schedules and mermaid showtimes. Are you missing out on crucial updates that could save your family's fun day?

Bad news is good business. We never bought in.

Every morning, financial news follows the same script. Headlines panic, coverage catastrophises, and somewhere inside the noise is the story that actually matters — the one that tells you where the opportunity sits, not just where the fear is pointing.

Most sources have stopped looking. The alarm is easier to sell.

The Daily Upside was created by Wall Street insiders for readers who crave real insight over recycled anxiety. Five minutes of global business and finance, before the noise sets the agenda — just the facts, context, and analysis your decisions need.

Join 1M readers — including managing directors and principals at some of Wall Street’s largest institutions — who trust The Daily Upside to filter through the chaos.

The upsides are always there. We’ll find them before breakfast.
