Local law enforcement invites you to dunk them – literally – at a free community event this summer. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office, specifically its Community Policing Unit (COPPS), is throwing a "Beat the Heat" party. TODAY from 12 PM to 4 PM, at Grace World Outreach Church. Best of all? It won't cost you a dime. Expect games, a dunk tank, and engaging activities designed for all ages, ensuring plenty of smiles.

Work commenced today on a significant upgrade project targeting athletic facilities at Frank W. Springstead High School. Hernando Schools officially marked the groundbreaking, initiating a comprehensive effort directly aimed at bolstering Springstead Athletics and its core infrastructure.
This extensive undertaking will address key components essential for a modern athletic program. It specifically focuses on rectifying drainage concerns impacting playing fields, revitalizing the existing turf, and enhancing the high school's track.
