Have you spotted the stunning new look for TheBus? Our local ADA Paratransit vans are now sporting a beautiful mermaid-themed wrap, bringing a splash of Hernando County charm to our streets. These aren't just for paratransit; they're also on several fixed routes, including Route 9, the Mermaid Route.

That means your next trip to Pine Island Park, Roger's Park, Bayport, or Jenkins Creek Park could be on one of these eye-catching vehicles. Plus, there's easy park-and-ride access at Linda Pedersen Park along scenic Shoal Line Boulevard. Want to know how this new wrap impacts your rides?

Spring Hill neighbors, take note! Planning a trip to the Hernando County Sheriffโ€™s Office administrative offices this week? You need to hear this before Friday, July 3rd. Those offices will be CLOSED in observance of Independence Day. Don't show up to locked doors if you have paperwork or questions for the admin staff.

Our Emergency Communications Center, Patrol Division, and Detention Center will still be fully operational, keeping our community safe. But if your plans involve the HCSO's administrative side, what essential business might be affected by this closure? Find out exactly what you need to know now.

Florida played a crucial, often overlooked, role in the American Revolution. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, new details are emerging about our state's past. After the devastating siege of Charleston in 1780, British forces captured 5,000 American soldiers. But it gets more personal than that for Florida.

Sixty-three prominent citizens, including three signers of the Declaration of Independence โ€“ Thomas Heyward, Jr., Arthur Middleton, and Edward Rutledge โ€“ were sent straight to St. Augustine. Some faced house arrest, but South Carolina's Christopher Gadsden endured 42 weeks in solitary at Fort Mark, our own Castillo de San Marcos. What did it mean for Florida to hold such important figures?

Florida Dept. of Health โ€“ Hernando

Heads up, Spring Hill! A rabies alert is active in Hernando County. DOH-Hernando confirmed a case in a cat near Dade City, specifically off Westwood Drive, dated June 29, 2026. This isn't a drill: it's a 60-day warning that directly impacts our neighborhoods.

The alert stretches from Coral Rock Drive to Old Trilby Road, and between Lower Lake Road/McKinney Sink Road and Nature Coast Boulevard/Highway 75. Wild animals like raccoons and bats are confirmed carriers. Do you live inside this zone? What steps must you take to keep your family and pets safe from this serious threat?

Spring Hill is gearing up for America's 250th birthday. As fireworks burst across our skies, a few crucial safety tips could mean the difference between celebration and disaster. Do you know the exact time you should wait before placing used fireworks into water? It's longer than you think.

Failing to properly dispose of soaked explosives in a heavy-duty plastic bag, or attempting to relight a dud, puts homes and lives at risk right here in our community. Will your Independence Day be memorable for the right reasons? Don't let a preventable accident ruin your holiday.

The Drink Everyoneโ€™s Reaching For ๐Ÿธโœจ

This season, Iโ€™m reaching for something different: Vesper by Pique.

Pique is known for blending ancient botanicals with modern science to create elevated wellness essentials. Vesper might be my favorite yet. Itโ€™s a non-alcoholic, adaptogenic aperitif that delivers the relaxed, social glow of a cocktail. Without alcohol or the next-day fog.

Itโ€™s what I pour when I want something special in my glass on a bright spring evening. Each sip feels celebratory and uplifting. Relaxed body. Clear mind. No haze. No sleep disruption.

Crafted with L-theanine, lemon balm, gentian root, damiana, and elderflower, Vesper is sparkling, tart, and beautifully herbaceous.

If youโ€™re ready for a new kind of happy hour, try Vesper here. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ
