Get ready, Spring Hill! The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is bringing back the 10th Annual Back to School Bash on July 18th. Mark your calendars for 10 AM to 1 PM. This isn't just any event; it's your chance to grab free backpacks, school supplies, lunch boxes, and even physicals for the kids.

Spring Hill taxpayers, get ready. Commissioners discussed a massive $190 million Capital Improvement Plan for FY 2027 on June 23, covering 120 projects. There’s $34.4 million in unfunded initiatives, including a $1.5 million Pine Island Sea Wall repair. Commissioner Steve Champion blasted a "$65,000 for a roof" project at Veteran's Park, questioning "excessive" government costs.
County Administrator Jeff Rogers admits "the bureaucracy of government costs us money every day." Projects like the $3 million Anderson Snow Park expansion or a new $750,000 observation tower at Linda Pedersen Park hinge on a November vote.
